Cigarette, from the Series "White Things", 2001
Originally trained as an engineer, Peña later turned to photography and became one of the most important voices in contemporary Cuban art. His work has been exhibited internationally in museums, galleries, and biennials throughout Latin America, Europe, and the United States, and is included in prominent public and private collections.
