Colin Garland was born in Sydney, Australia in 1935. He attended National School of Art, in Sydney; and later on the Central School of Art, in London. Garland moved to Jamaica in 1962, and lived there until his death. He often exhibited his work in Jamaica, especially at the National Gallery of Jamaica, and in many galleries worldwide.
His work can be found in many private collections and in museums and institutions such as theNational Gallery, Kingston, Jamaica.
