Impossible Dialogue is a participative art installation that focuses on the symptomatic polarized lack of civility that are affecting our interrelations in social media spaces. This installation resembles an apple store where the technological products will be replaced by clay phones, tablets and laptops whit relief inscriptions of texts and images.

The pieces establish an ironic palimpsest, between the ancient “Sumerian Disputes” the oldest word battles of which we have written record on cuneiform clay tablets and the numerous messages of hatred, intolerance and extremism in social networks nowadays.

There will be a work station where the participants model, inscribe and exchange their own clay tablets. This process of engraving the clay is slow and laborious forcing the participant to be more reflective about the content of the messages.

This installation is a tribute to the bravery of people who have stood up to Power throughout history. The works portray in and with white chalk on blackboard dissidents, activists, and political prisoners from around the world who have stood up to totalitarianism, political and economic power, or the preconceived ideas of the cultural or religious establishment, in some cases risking their own lives. These women and men are often unknown or silenced, but their courage and personal sacrifice have undoubtedly been a fundamental factor in the advancement of democracy and human rights in the world. Tank Man is the nickname of an unidentified Chinese man who stood in front of a column of Type 59 tanks leaving Tiananmen Square in Beijing on June 5, 1989, the day after the Chinese government's violent crackdown on the Tiananmen protests.
