This sculpture is part of a series of works that Leon Ferrari began in 1994. In this piece, Ferrari combined his trademark mannequin with a poem by Argentinean writer Jorge Luis Borges. By handwriting the poem he is establishing a connection of intimacy with those who specifically suffered the excesses of totalitarian governments.
