Macarena Salinas, was born in Santiago de Chile andcurrently divides her time between Miami and Santiago. Sheholds a Fine Arts degree with distinction from the CatholicUniversity of Chile. Her work has been featured in solo andgroup exhibitions across Chile, France, the United States, andSpain. She represented Chile at the Révélations Biennial inParis (2019), was selected for the Cerco Award in Spain(2021), and participated in the Korea Ceramics Biennale(2019). Since 2019, she has been a member of theInternational Academy of Ceramics (IAC).Macarena’s artistic practice unfolds between abstractionand ancestral memory. Her paintings—resembling ancientcartographies or aerial views of sacred native sites—invite aprofound connection with the vital energy of nature and itscycles. In parallel, she works with stoneware, creatingceramic sculptures rooted in materiality and gesture. Thesepieces evoke ceremonial vessels and artifacts unearthedfrom ancestral burial sites, as if shaped from the memory oflava itself. With the hands of a potter, she delves into theessence of native cultures, crafting works inspired by theirrituals and cosmologies.
