Dallas December 1 - December 29, 2007

 

 

Pan American Art Projects Dallas is pleased to announce Paul Hunter's second solo exhibition with us opening on Saturday, December 1, with a cocktail reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.. The artist will be attendance.

 

This exhibition will be on view through December 29, 2007. The gallery will be closed December 25 - 26 in observation of the Christmas holiday. We will be open December 27 - 29 from 12 - 5 p.m.. Paul Hunter paints the imaginary landscape onto canvases covered with 23 karat gold leaf, bronze, copper, aluminum, and white gold leaf, exploiting their different colors and reflective qualities. Hunter then applies acrylic paints which opaquely contrast the shimmering metal leaf to create striking panoramas. Originally from Quebec, receiving his MFA from Concordia University in Montreal, Paul Hunter now lives and works in New York City. His select exhibitions include the Whitney Museum of American Art at Philip Morris, Art Museum of Princeton University, Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art, the Quebec Museum, and various galleries throughout the US, Canada, and most recently Germany. Select awards include the Canada Council Grant, the Quebec Government Artists Fellowship, and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award in 1987.
